May, una adolescente americana busca a su padre en Colombia, un popular camionero conocido como "Cartago". Al encontrarlo, le explica en un deficiente español, que su madre se encuentra privada de la libertad en Estados unidos y requiere de su apoyo económico. A pesar de la rotunda negativa y los acalorados alegatos, Cartago enfrenta la situación, viéndose obligado a retomar sus gloriosos pasos de jugador de sapo, mientras en medio de la aventura, padre e hija se descubren, enlazándose en una bella, divertida e inolvidable relación.
