Tras una catástrofe, Axel, Jonatan y Ana se encierran en una casa reconvertida en búnker. Durante un tiempo formaron un triángulo afectivo, pero la relación se fue deteriorando cuando los dos últimos dejaron de lado al primero. La situación dará otro vuelco cuando, tras una expedición al exterior, regresen con un "invitado". Altamente opresiva, El desierto es un estudio sobre el deterioro físico y mental que ocurre cuando nuestra idea de "normalidad" salta por los aires.
