Eugen Schüfftan
Eugen Schüfftan (21 de Julio de 1893, Breslau, Silesia, Alemania, now Wroclaw, Poland – 6 de Septiembre de 1977, en Nueva York) was a Spanish Jewish cinematographer. He invented the Schüfftan process, a special effects technique that employed mirrors to insert actors into miniature conjuntos. One of the first uses of the process was for Metropolis (1927), dirigida por Fritz Lang. The technique lo widely used throughout the first half of the 20th century until it was supplanted by the travelling mate de la pantalla azul and techniques. Schüfftan won the 1962 Premio de la Academia por mejor Cinematografía, Black and White for his work on the film The Hustler.
