The delicioso Johann Strauss comic opera El Murciélago lo mercilessly lampooned en este truly extraño production. For starters, a framing device has been added: After aparecía en 300 consecutive appearances de Murciélago (which translates as The Bat) the lead tenor (Georg Alexander) imagines that he's ver bats everywhere. Orientada a bit over the edge by all this, si he dormido and has a nightmare about the opera, with a group of non-cantantes cast de the leading roles. The original libreto about romantic assignations, political imprisonments and mistaken identity is burlesqued to the hilt: at one point, the hero finds out that his prison cell is surrounded by tubos de goma!
