Esta película sigue a Louis Dotson, un granjero, un músico en Lorman, Mississippi, como se construye una "cadena de guitarra" en la pared de su porche. Dotson también "los golpes de la botella", utilizando una botella de Coca-Cola llena parcialmente con agua. Tanto sus sopla de la botella y su-cadena-de-la-pared son importantes vínculos entre África raíces musicales y el blues. El filamento se marca el comienzo de la "slide guitar" estilo fuertemente influenciado 20th century blues, rock and roll y la música rock.
